Campaign Program on Violence against Women in Association with UN Women and TTS

Towards developing a rights-based approach by ABC, human rights and social justice are considered as cross-cutting themes. ABC Foundation had successfully completed the project activities on Violence against Women in Barisal Sadar and BorgunaSadar. The programmatic focus of this initiative:

  • To reduce all forms of violence against the vulnerable groups of children, adolescent and young girls and women of the poor households;
  • To disseminate information on rights and entitlements under right-to-information acts to increase people’s access to services

From rights perspectives, ABC has  extended  its work to increase awareness and made vulnerable groupscapable of children, girls and women for prevention of violence. Violence faced by these groups leads to children remaining out of school and living and working on the streets, they are being engaged in hazardous work, face physical and mental tortures, sexual exploitation and abuse, and human trafficking.
